What to bring back from Japan?

Ok, my buddy is going to Japan for the month of April. He doesn't want to carry big bulky stuff, so a body kit is out. So what should I ask him to stuff his suit case with? ...anybody?

lane_change 03-21-02 12:55 AM

DragonBall Z cards. hahaha I lived in Japan for 8 years, where is your friend going? I would get a lot of electronics such as Apex'i, Blitz, HKS, Trust, and other compainies boost controllers, turbo timers, ECU's, gauges, japanese liscence plates from a junkyard (JK), and little shit like that. It's a lot cheaper over there. Apex Power FC is like $550 or some shit where here it's over $850. Just my .02

black99 03-21-02 01:03 AM

HKS 6spd tranny...
Lots of women..

j/k I know you said bulky things are out of the question.. I would say look for anything "rotary related" like watches, or maybe you can find one of those "stuffed rotors"..

ek9220ps 03-21-02 01:56 AM

im planning to go to japan in may.. cant wait.. you should get alot of small hard to find stuff.. I had a friend carry back 2 recaro seats. but i heard it is hard to find car shops...

man_of_steel 03-21-02 02:37 AM

how about some efini blank keys? rx7.com carries them but is on waaay backorder. oh, also bring me a skyline, please.

rerx7 03-21-02 02:41 AM

Bring back one hell SOME of those Japanese girls from the auto show. Shouldn't need to ask. :titty:
Oh as for your FD a pair of RE-Amemiya gull wing doors would be nice =D

black99 03-21-02 02:44 AM

Screw it just bring RE himself back...

rx7speed811 03-21-02 03:39 AM

if you can get a hookup on the jdm bumper combo lights, i am sure you will be able to unload those pretty fast. i can use a pair. also, japanese efini keys, and pretty much any other cool shit you cant get here.

oh yeah, and if you bring back anything bulky at all, please dont bring back any native japanese bucktooth, fucktooth, or "wandering tooth" (in the words of rotaryknight) girls please.

Johnsrx7 03-21-02 06:21 AM

A brand new Bathhurst Rx-7. :D

man_of_steel 03-21-02 10:09 AM

realistically, besides some electronics, I dont think there is anything you can bring back in good quantity besides just RX-7 parahpanalia...like the blank efini keys, watches, shit like that.

Flybye 03-21-02 10:22 AM

Bring This Back For Me, Please?

I have been trying everything I can think of to get an armrest for my FD3S. The armrest fits in the space where the ashtray is located on USA models. I have been told that the armrest is an OEM part for Japanese FD3S beginning in the 1997 model year.

You can see the armrest in this picture:

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...&postid=473692

I would appreciate any help you can give me and will work with you any way you prefer. If you like, you can ship the armrest to me from Japan while you are there or bring it back with you. Obviously I will cover the costs of purchase and shipping.

Please contact me directly:

raytuvell@attbi.com

Thank you and have a safe trip.

martini 03-21-02 11:56 AM

diablone 03-21-02 12:26 PM

About how much is it costing you to visit Japan?

ech 03-21-02 01:12 PM

I'd also pay for cost+handling of an armrest ashtray insert.

rotarypower101 03-21-02 01:53 PM

cruser 03-21-02 02:20 PM

How about the stock R1 strut brace??? Can those be found cheaper over there?? Been looking for one for a LONG time.

GoRacer 03-21-02 02:49 PM

wow, that's alot of stuff

I allready asked for some Giesha girls :titty: (LOL)

Well, he flies to Hawaii to meet relatives then they fly out to uhm, something like Okie-now-uh I think. I don't know he's cruisin the place. So the problem is he flies back to Hawaii. I can't just meet him at LAX. So I was trying to figure out what is small enough to stuff his suitcase that is cheap there but a fortune over here...basically the killer deal.

I will give him a list and some cash but don't know if he'll pull through. Hmm, wonder if his text pager works over there?

DomFD3S 03-21-02 02:56 PM

Here's a list of stuff to bring back:

1) SARD products(gauges, fuel pressure regulator)
2) Any major tuner products (RE, Panspeed, Veilside, etc.)
3) Factory Service Manual/Wiring manuals for a 20B

Just go to takakaira.com and look for stuff that might be able to fit into a suitcase relatively easily.

We can buy pocky sticks for pretty cheap here in L.A. as well as in San Francisco. I guess you're not located near an asian part of town?
