What brand engine oil (dino/regular oil) do you use? NOT a Dino vs Syn debate...

I just wanted to get a general consensus of what REGULAR DINO ENGINE OIL everyone uses. There are a lot of these "high mileage" or "EXTENDED 5000 mile" oil stuff out there and I just wanted to know what you guys use... Please no Regular vs Synthetic debate... Thank you very much... |
castrol gtx 20w50 when I can
might switch to a 10w40 for winter months |

I like kendal 20w50 but its just my preferance.. i like castrol also however..

Castrol GTX +1... if you change yours every 3k kms its easy on the wallet also.

On the streets, I use Castrol GTX 10w30.

i use castrol GTX 20w50 durin the summer but i use Royal Purple 10w30 syn for everything else

just started using the new Quacker state 10w30 Q formula.. Ferrari is using it .

Rotella T 15/50W it has a zinc compound abbreiviated ZDDP, which is an extreme pressure additive that helps keep flat tappet camshafts from wearing out. I have read they have discontinued it in the oil as of this year though. I may be changing...

ZDDP is bad for catalytic converters - that's why most racing oils should not be used in cars equipped with cats, and why the ZDDP content has been drastically lowered in street oils over the last 10 years or so. |
