What bolt on dual tip exhaust besides RB?

I’m looking for a nice Dual Tip exhaust in family with the racing beat one (M2 used to make one for example). Is there any other options? As far as I can tell for bolt on exhausts, there is the Apexi N1 (not interested), St. May and RB. Is that basically it?

I've got a RE-A twin dolphin tail... looks and sounds good

There is SMB in Australia: http://www.smb.net.au/fullexhaustsystems-mazdarx7.htm

and the guys that made the dual tip imported by M2 are also out of Australia-- hitech mufflers: http://www.hitechmufflers.com.au/pro...?m=RX7&b=mazda

As far as the style of the RB goes; that's about it, really. Get the RB dual tip, you won't be disappointed. I lovvvveeeee mine. Sounds good and it looks very subtle.

Probably not what you are looking for but

St. Mays on Majik's car...

You won't be disappointed with the RB. It eliminates "weed wacker" sounding tendencies of a modified rotary engine.

I prefer single tip but for duel tip id have to say the RB looks the best.

Thanks for the help and other recommendations. I emailed hitech for prices (exhaust looks very nice), so we’ll see. I’m not looking to spend anywhere near $1k+ (Like RE-A or Feed ,etc.).

For the RB exhaust, is it a straight through “split Y” type design? Also, how is it with highway drone at 50-70 mph?

Ok I just gotta ask what are your issues with the exhausts that you listed?

That is RB, St mays, APexi

From my experience the FD RB exhaust has the least drone of all the competing systems I've heard/driven/etc.

Montego 10-14-10 01:45 PM

^agreed.

I had my RB duals with a resonated MP, DP, on stock twins and I had zero highway drone. In fact I loved it so much that I kept it after I went single. Now I get minimal drone but that's kinda expected though.

+1 more
I have the rb dual tip on my car. First time ever hearing it. It sounds good. And no drone at all

No issues with the RB exhaust, just wanted to know what else was out there that compares. I don't like the look of St Mays when on the car and I don't like the looks or sound of the Apexi N1 Duals.

It looks like nothing out there can compare with RB in terms of performance and price. The SMB is the next most expensive, then they skyrocket from there.

So right now it's between SMB and RB (maybe Hitech if they get back to me on price).

Thanks for the help guys :icon_tup:.

Julian 10-16-10 02:25 PM

SMB makes some hi quality stuff

Turbo8 10-16-10 03:38 PM

Is that St Mays dual still available? I can't find any vendor selling it

Warpaint_88 10-16-10 03:51 PM

I have seen the ST Mays dual "shotgun" exhaust on ebay in the past... take a look there

No, it's not. There is a vendor on eBay that apparently got all their surplus when they closed shop and sells the remaining units. They usually pop up about every 2-3 months and they are new units, not used.

St. Mays is puresex!

Oscypek1007 10-17-10 08:24 AM

Damn. Thanks for the info. I will be watching EBay like a hawk then...

mrb63083 10-17-10 02:27 PM

I have a 3" downpipe, high flow cat, and the RB dual exhaust; there is absolutely zero highway drone.
