were kinda stumped
Maybe someone has an answer to the following problems. 93 street ported, no cats, power fc, stock turbos, big stock mount m2 intercooler, cold air box, no air pump. Car has 1000 miles since rebuild, but is still hunting for idle. have checked all vac hoses and tried numerous idle adjustments. still hunts unless aircon on full. And ideas?
2nd - Car will run great (except for the hunting), then every once in a while, the car will stumble (cut in and out, starts to lose spark) under aceleration and then die. No spark and will not start for 5 - 40 minutes. restarts again and is fine. No rime or reason why this happens. Pfc shows all sensors okay. Hmmm Thanks for your help. |
Iam still relatively new, but it could be a few things I believe. Wouldnt a port leave your engine hunting like thats normal? Also you might just want to adjust your idle speed a little higher. Another thing i have heard is that on new rebuilds they like to do that for a few miles until "broken in". Hope this helps and the rotary smarties jump in.

Who tuned your PFC, your idle fuel map might be adjusted. Even with a ported engine you should have a smooth idle.

Porting may explain vac level but not usually cut out and loss of spark. Check for poor idle mixture/ excessive idle ignition timing/ spark plug condition/ ignition coil voltage levels. As your engine was rebuilt 1000k ago it would be adviseable to check engine grounding as they can easily be overlooked on installation.
