I have been running my Electromotive for a while now and have had no problem with my engine. I do know the my Electromotive uses a 60 tooth trigger wheel unlike the PFC wich uses the cars stock one.

i dont use the pfc, i use the aem stand alone.

Sorry to hear about your motor, but it seems like a lot of this could have been prevented. Sounds like you went for some go fast mods before you should have done all the preventive maintance. Ie getting the injectors cleaned and flow balanced. Skimping on shit might save money for short term but it almost always ends up biting you in the ass, especially with the FD.

There is no reason why motors let go after a year of use other than lack of taking the proper precautions from what I have seen.

Do you have a wideband display within easy view? Every time I boost my car on the highway I keep my eye glued to the wideband.

fdwarrior actually your engine blew after you got the electromotive ecu in your car. Your coolant seals went correct? original motor.

^^ Define lean. What did your WBO2 display read when you shifted to 5th?

Holy shit, that's really bad. Sounds like you have some serious fuel delivery problems. What boost pressure are you running and what is the corresponding AFR you are tune for under boost?

Please let us know what the cause for this failure is when you find out.

i usualy ran 15psi. (did it for a year) something happened and it went lean. i usually ran 10.8 afr at 15 psi.

Sounds like you need to go back with a more conventional setup...3mm seals, port, PFC, 550/1600, single. That's the proven recipe for 400+ that lasts 2-5 years at a time.

Cool...camaro or corvette? How much are you going to be selling your rx7 for?

Isn't this a contradiction? How will you afford an LS1 swap if you can't afford a new engine?

Dave

RotaryResurrection 01-30-08 02:25 PM

Don't you know? According to the swappers, you can save 100lb, pick up 3 seconds in the quarter, and use the rotary parts to pay for the swap and still make 2 grand.

i cannot afford a new engine every year. plus with the parts i will be selling, it will only be able 2k out of my pocket.

I think that went over your head, it was supposed to be a joke. You know...you want an LS powered car, buy an LS powered car (corvette/camaro)?

I enjoyed towing my replacement ls6 home with my turbo rotary last week, and enjoyed driving my rotary vehicles while the piston engine was dead. :dunno:
