Weird Knock Sensor Problem

I pulled the engine code and it came out to be a bad knock sensor, so I bought one and switched it couple days ago; the check engine light is still on... What is odd is that even before I changed the sensor everytime I turn my steering wheel the light flashes on and off as if there is some kind of misconnection. Other wise the light is on steady. It still does this even after I changed the sensor. Any ideas?

Haven't looked to see how close it is, but is it possible the wire is hitting the steering shaft in the engine bay??

I didn't see any wires twisted against the steering shaft, plus why would it turn on and off when the light should be on from the start? It would be a possibility if the light would flash on when I turn, but not when its always on and blinking.

Anything is possible if there is a short to ground- especially an intermittent one on a sensor. it would do all sorts of odd things. I am stumped here though- perhaps someone else here has encountered this and can be of further assistance. Good luck.
