Weird but not huge problem during startup

hey all, when I start my car up in the bone cold(10-20 degrees) it will start up fine, but idle rough backfiring quite alot. Then after its warming up for a min, it will like kick in kinda, the intakes and air pump make a weird noise, it sounds like a sudden rush of air is sucked in, and my idle smooths out,and the backfiring dissapears.

Is it my air pump not engaging right away causing overly rich idleing?

Its not a big problem or anything, and it only happens when I start it very cold.

My car does kinda the same thing, only when it's 10'ish out... Fires up fine, but after idling a min the idle drops a tad and I do hear a sound like air rushing in but I get some oil smoke at that time but clears up after about 20-30 seconds and smooths out.

Mine just kicks in, the idle doesnt drop, it goes up like 200 rpms and the backfiring smooths out alot..

I dunno it will probably go away when its warmer.

It's funny you mention this today since it being 20 degrees here in NY. I had the same thing. It was fine starting up and when i got ready to drive, the car kind of stuttered and even though I was accelerating, the car kind of bucked, and dropped rpm's (even though i'm on the gas). I don't know if it's the double throttle / butterfly that says the car isn't warmed up yet, so it's not opening fully. - This is just a guess. Anyone know if this is a true assumption ?
This has happened a few times before when it was this cold. In nice 40+ weather this never happens.
