Ways to make 3" filter fil 2.5" inake piping
 

I has tried tape and it work pretty well, looks a bit tacky but doesnt bother me to much.

I was just wondering what methods other people have used as a "quick" fix to make larger intake filter inlets fit snug around smaller intake piping?

None. I always use one that fits properly. No need to risk loosing an engine by running an improperly fitting air filter.

What happens when that tape gets sucked in?

Where is that old thread about the guy that used his t-shirt as a temp air filter? That was funny.

I still have the stock turbo setup.

I am looking for a piping that is 2.5" which matches the outlet of the turbo intake piping and also flares to fit a 3" intake filter on it.

So basically in short, a pipe that is 2.5 inches in diamete on one side, and on the other side 2.75 or 3"

Tape, is just wrapped around the pipe itslef just to enlarge the piping so the clamp can fit snug around the intake filter.

You use a 2.5" intake pipe. You connect the 2.5" pipe to a 3" outlet on the filter using a 2.5" -> 3" transistion/reducer coupler. It's that simple.

But then im clamping down on silicon ? it will cave in ?

Probably. You'll need a short length of 3" metal pipe.

i have 2 silicone 3to2.5" reducers for my stock twins. i assure you they will not collapse if you buy quality reducers. dont buy ebay crap and you will be fine. some area's you just cant skimp on.
