Water temp readings??? The PFC reads--- and the Stock water gauge reads correctly???

So the stock gauge reads perfect but the PFC reads---. Does that mean the water temp sensor is bad or does it mean that there is another problem? I figure that if the stock gauge is working than the sensor should be working ok. Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks in advance

Not sure what you mean by "the stock gauge reads perfect." The stock gauge has no temp numbers, and its movement isn't linear.

EDIT: Sorry, I see what you're saying now. Doesn't the ECU use a different temp sensor than the stock gauge?

Yeah, Kento's spot on - the stock gauge thinks 180 and 235 are both perfect.

So if I replace the sensor on the back of the water pump (one with the green end) it should work again correct or do I need a different sensor???

Thomas1277 08-08-06 08:42 PM

What sensor controls the fans??

Thomas1277 08-08-06 08:43 PM

and what sensor controls the stock gauge?

Search mofo!
The thermosensor (different from the both temp sensors) controls part of the fans, but you can change what temp you want your fans to come on with the PFC.
The PFC sensor is in the waterpump housing and the stock gauge reads from the back housing if I remember correctly.
You modify your stock gauge to make it linear or you could go with an aftermarket gauge.

I just want to know which sensor i need to make my PFC to work

glassman just told you, it is the sensor (green) at the back of the waterpump housing. those dont usually go bad, check the connector.
