which water temp gauge is more important?
 

I'm seeing some odd temps coming from my TB hose mounted gauge, but stable temps from the pfc. The gauge will read around 100c when in stop and go, but the pfc reads stable at around 90c the entire time. Im pretty sure I have a small leak coming from the tb hose due to a small amount of steam coming from that area I briefly saw while the car idled in the driveway, so I know I need to address that. But ive been wondering which gauge is more important in terms of monitoring temps, and I've also wondered about how my oil and water temps relate in terms of overheating. I remember reading somewhere that the oil temps are generally about 10c higher than water temps.

Comments anyone?

I'm finding that the TB gauge sender generally reads a little lower than the PFC.

In cold weather the TB gauge sender can read quite a bit lower. The cold air passing thru the throttle body seems to cool the coolant before it gets to the sender. I sometimes get readings 20 degrees (F) lower than the PFC.

Once warmed up, my oil temps are generally about 20 degrees (F) higher than my water temps. I just have a single stock oil cooler.

Thanks for the reply, Adam. I have become a bit concerned about it because the temp reading on the tb gauge has always read within 2c of the pfc (about 90 - 92c). I was assuming that if the coolant was actually that hot that it would cause my oil temp to rise as well, and because it hadn't I was beginning to wonder if the gauge sender was going bad...
