water meth question
 
hey all, im putting a water meth kit in my car and im wondering if anyone knows if it will be ok on stock ecu. Its a 94 touring and the car has an air intake, downpipe, fluidyne rad, n1 titanium exhaust, and intercooler piping. Thinking of maybe pumping up boost to 12 to 14 range also. what do you think?

I dont see why it wouldn't be, but depending on how much meth you're wanting to run and the nozzle size you could be too rich, or experience ignition breakup. Remember that meth is a fuel and burns like gas. IF you feel slight hesitations when the water is in use then you're injecting too much, and need a smaller nozzle.

first off, there is an entire section of this board devoted to water/alcohol injection... see Auxiliary Injection.

running the OEM ECU, and being untunable, the introduction of water and/or alcohol will cost you hp.

it may cool your motor a tad.

generally, using the OEM turbos, at 14 or lower you don't need combustion chamber cooling.

the stock compressors cavitate above 14 and deliver less oxygen molecules per volume than at 14 so turning up the boost past 14 on the OEM setup is a loser.

if you switch to a single turbo that is another story... alcohol and/or water, if properly tuned, can be a big help. you will need a Power FC/Datalogit or somthing similar to get tuned.

i suggest you visit the Auxiliary Injection section of this board to get further info.

You can't run over 10 psi on the stock ecu. I don't know why you are looking at overkill and unnecessary auxillary injection when you are still running the stock ecu.... :scratch:

There is some good advice here. I think water or meth injection really is one of the unexplored aspects of upgrading these cars. You can tune for big power or for safety. I'm sure you could add it and be really safe as your potential for knock will go way down. However you still need a computer if you want to run more power. There is no escaping that, not with water injection, not with anything.
