Wastegate Porting
 

It's come down to it. I absolutely HAVE to port my wastegate now. I really didn't want to, but I've got my midpipe and intercooler just sitting around because I'm afraid of boost creep, so this is something that needs to be done. What tools will I need to do this? Can it be done with a dremel or will I need something a little bit more heavy duty?

I just thought of something. I bought these from Floman, who said they were ported by Pettit for a little more flow. Was he talking about the wastegate? I think I read somewhere that Pettit didn't really do a whole heck of a lot to their twins, but what exactly would've been done to them? The original FS thread is here.

Edit- Thanks for the links Rynberg, those will come in handy if I do have to crack these open myself.

Nevermind, I just got off the phone with pettit and whoever I talked to said they don't port the wastegate. :(

Have you tried using a restrictor plate in the exhaust? Obviously not the best for exhaust flow, but could keep you from getting boost creep.

A die grinder and carbite burr are the tools to go with for the porting. I got an electric die grinder super cheap off of ebay.

Yeah, the plate would just be a temporary bandaid fix though, might as well do it right.
