Warrens Project and GT35R build
I live in South Africa, RX7s are very rare here and with our terrible exchange rate, importing all the goodies you guys get is crazy expensive but still fun and as you all know, highly addictive.
I have owned a few scoobies in the past and I did enjoy modifying them but def not as much as the RX7. I love the fact that there is always something to do and I get to work on it myself rather then sending it in for customizing. So here is my picture thread from just before it left japan, when it arrived (in a terrible state!) till now. Pics sent from Japan: http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...6/963615_2.jpg http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...6/963615_3.jpg http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...6/963615_4.jpg http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...6/963615_5.jpg http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...6/963615_6.jpg I'll Take it!!!!! |
7 months later!!! It arrives, the delay is mainly because of the parts I ordered taking long to source and a burnout kit which I landed up selling anyway because it was the wrong one.
I get the call, lets go pick up the car. When I get there, the car doesn't look as good as when it left Japan but Im still on a high! What happened to the shiny paint in the first pics :( http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...6/IMG_1147.jpg http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...6/IMG_1143.jpg http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...6/IMG_1146.jpg Man it looks terrible but when I start her, the hair on the back of my neck stands on end. What a beautiful sound!!!! |
On inspecting the car further, I find that it is fitted with:
HKS High Power exhaust HKS dual Intakes Tanabe Sustec suspension Final Speed semi forged rims Border front bumper Parts I brought through were: PFC Cusco front & rear struts HPI engine torque Damper Momo Race wheel Re Amemiya shifter 99 spec tails Burnout bodykit pics to follow..... |
thanks god you bought some different tail lights those things were not hittin on much.
|
|
|
in some angles, the front bumper seems to be a shade brighter than the rest of the car..... especially compared to the drivers front fender and headlight covers
Congrats on the car tho, looks good |
Motor is in for Street port at the moment. Im still waiting for my intercooler, mishimoto radiator and injectors.
Will keep anyone who is interested updated. |

VERY nice build! Looks like your on a roll. Paint shades look good to me after the repairs.

Fitted my diffuser today. Its was alot of hard work but alot of fun too...

First I love your diffuser, this might be a dumb question but what kind of clearance does that thing have as far as hard lauches like say at a drag strip. is the diffuser at risk of being damaged if the car squats.
|
The Diffuser is very low on my car. Hard launches are not really a problem if you have a stiffer aftermarket suspension which I have, the rear hardly squats at all in my case. If you were on a stock suspension, then your clearance will be much higher and therefore no scraping either.
|
u need a wide band instead of that narrowband autometer one. nice build though!
|
Which diffuser is that? Cost? Available at?
|
Who did u get all these parts through? Also got a GT35R for my 7 now too! Cant wait to get it together again

Does Rx7store.net still have V-Mounts ?, if they do, I'd say that's your best bet...
|
Ya I'd def say if you planning on doing track days often, go V-mount, worth the extra cash for being able to go flat out all day long without overheating and having low A/Temps too. But a big standard mount IC is plenty good for the street.

rotary extreme has v-mount

My Ganador Mirrors Arrived!!
They landed today from Japan. They are such great quality and I think they compliment the shape of the FD 100%
