Wanting to buy a 3rd Gen RX-7... What to look for?

First of all, to make a long story short, my MR2 was totaled on Sunday from some ass hole cutting me off on the highway, my car spun 360 into a green and white turnpike sign, rolled over three times into a ditch where it hit a tree and rolled over again. Pics can be seen at http://www.forperformance.com/totaled2 Luckily I was the only one in the vehicle and no other cars were involved. I got out of the car when it was upside down with only minor scrapes and rather harsh seatbelt burn across my neck. I'm still a bit sore but I think I have decided that I would like to purchase a 3rd Gen RX-7 TT as my next vehicle. What do I look for when purchasing one? Are there any free mods? What usually is a common problem (If any) with these cars and are they fixable? I've often heard things about Apex seals and if they go, then so does your engine, is this true? Someone please help educate an interested RX-7 enthusiast. Thanks for all your help!

look up from this post and look for the NEWBIE links and info post that was posted by johnny. It has links and tons of info there on how 7's work, what to look for when purchasing, mods etc.

Sorry to hear about the MR2, that's one less good car on the road.

Danny

You got it! Gotta love the fine tuned suspension in the 91-92 MR2's.

Man, sorry about your car! But I just wanted to tell, GOOD LUCK! and Be careful, making your final decision!
I bought my FD from a rich, old man who never drove the car because he owned so many other amazing cars, so I figured it had to be a great car with only 65k and the body and engine seemed like they were in PERFECT condition! Well, he obviously knew the motor was about to go, so that's why he was selling it, because when I hit about 71k miles of very light driving with no problems on the stock car, it was already time to replace the motor!
So you can never BE TOO CAREFUL! Take your time too, even though, I know it's rough after totaling your love, that was my case too!

GOOD LUCK and when you get your FD, let us know!!
