wanting to buy.

Hello everyone, this is my first post.
Well I am planning on buying a rx7 BUT I know very little about them. I'm thinking a 93, mileage, under 100k. Would it be a wise move to purchase a car like this? I currently drive a Camaro ss so this is definetly different. RX7's have been one of my fav cars for a while now but I keep hearing how they're a bit** to maintain.
I surely want to modify it and such, so can someone fill me in here please.

First off, finding a 93' with less then 100,000 miles, is going to be tough. But if you can find one, more power to you. Secondly, once you start modifying the car, much like all other cars, they get less reliable, and if pushed too hard enough times, will break. You have to also remember that RX-7's run a compleltly diffrent engine from pistion engines. So when people start modifying them, they use the same principle as other cars, which is wrong. And finding parts and people who work on them, will either be hard to find or expensive. Just remember that the car will treat you as good as you treat it, and try to learn as much about the car as you can, before you decide to buy one. And if you do buy one, welcome to the club. :D

Go to this website and click on Buying A Used RX-7. It should tell you most of what you need to know.

im going to move this to the [3]rd gen specific forum. Also, if you do a search, you will find a shitload of posts in there with similar, if not the same, subjects.
