Walbro Fuel pump install tips...

I'll be installing my Walbro in-tank tomorrow. It came with all the necessary hardware. My gas tank is already almost empty; does anyone have any other tips or advice?

Thanks guys--

Get some wd40 to loosen up the screws on there. It's probably really dirty in there. I did mine two days ago. It's pretty easy. Drop in.

Don't forget to put a new "sock" filter on the bottom of the pump while you're at it - it should come with one. If not, they're cheap.
Also make sure you replace the clamps on the fuel lines in the same position as when you took them off. Inhale deeply........:p

Wha's the skinny? Is the fuel pump inside the gas tank? Whoa! That a wierd one, I am stunned...None of my other vehicles have had electrics ran "into" the gas tank. I see I see, it's an RX-7.:p Well then, it looks pretty simple.:D

waldo fuel pump

How does the waldo fuel pump compare to stock and who has a good price on one?

GoodfellaFD3S 08-24-01 09:54 PM

The Walbro flows 255 l/hr and is a high pressure pump. It was $128 w/shipping and tax. Much cheaper than the pump RP sells, and the data I've seen rated it as one of the best out there. Wade Lanham has a fuel pump comparo on his site; I'm at work tight now and have the link at home so can't get it for you guys.

Maybe someone else can supply the link?
