VOLVO Intercooler?

Has any one tried to use the intercooler from the volvo. It's a huge intercooler but will it work. Wouldn't it be better then the stock IC. Someone is giving it to me.

I have a buddy that has both new and old volvos and mods them both and the intercooler in the 242 he has it HUGE. It came out of some truck so it is aftermarket. All the volvo ICs i seen are very tall, thin, and have very small inlet/outlet holes. I think the major issues would be having it clear the hood and the under tray. Maybe if you set up the whole IC rad in a V-mount setup that might work.

ive seen them in a few FCs and the pilots say the intake temps are way better than stock. ive only heard of them on FDs. i dont see why not, the volvo cores are quite large. you shouldnt experience too much pressure drop depending on your set-up. the important thing is getting enough air flow to the engine & radiator because of the size of the core.

The car is stock right now. I intend to go with a straight through exhaust from turbo to muffler, some kind of intake system.
