vividracing or rhdjapan for buying re-amemiya parts

trying to purchase some new re-amemiya parts. vivid has better pricing, rhdjapan has better pictures/descriptions.

anyone have experience with either? anyone have a preference? i have a buddy who's had some bad luck ordering some special aero through re-amemiya (waited almost a year, or longer) just don't want to be in that same situation. vivid says 4-6 weeks, rhdjapan says up to 6 weeks.

thoughts?

thanks,
Ben

I've been purchasing all my parts from RHDjapan for the past 6-7 years now. I can only say good things about their company. 100% customer satisfaction is their prerogative.

What amemiya parts are you looking to buy. I might have them already, and can give you a better idea of eta. For example, my wet carbon re-a bonnet only took about 3 weeks to get.

never had experience with rhdjapan but the customer service from vivid has always been good and they genreally offer good deals if you are buying a large order.

+1 RHD Japan

Think my parts came in about a week or so when I bought them last year (short shifter, shift ****, & AST).

I've personally used both. TBH either or will do you good. I ordered BNIB a HKS PFC F-CON and it showed up two weeks ahead of schedule from Vivid. RHD was the same way when I ordered stuff through them. Win Win!

You also may want to consider contacting omar@dragonmotorsports.net , they are a forum vendor and RE-A dealer.

i emailed vivid, and also went through a local shop who had basically the same website layout as vividracing, and instantly i got the "is this the same guy who's e-mailing everyone for these parts"

so i assume everything funnels through one guy.

vivid is getting me a "formal estimate" which means their pricing might be out of date, but they are guaranteeing me the lowest price. i'd probably rather go through rhdjapan, but i'll give vivid a shot since they've already put some time in.

Bryan, hopefully you can find that wing.

Yea I think so. It's easier to buy out your competition sometimes.

so vivid racing's price went from $499 + $7 shipping (obviously shipping wasn't right)
to $790... (estimate given to me "shipped to my doorstep" includes customs duties)

rhd's site says $522.07 + $34.98 EMS shipping = $557.05

if I order the parts from RHDJAPAN, is there going to be any hidden price increases/fees/duties? is this a no brainer?

GRD in Villa Park. (they have one of those websites that has 20,000 parts 99% of which they don't carry) Dustin works there. (teal lsx fc) He suggested to just go through rhdjapan because there's basically no mark-up on this stuff.

Ah, I work very close to Villa Park but I've never heard of them. I usually shop online tho, local shop tend to order stuff online and mark it up.

I have a roomate that ordered Tenzo wheels and bridgestone tires from Vivid Racing and it wasn't a good experience. They were supposed to be balanced but they weren't and the tires were not even seated properly on the wheels. Local shops couldnt get them seated properly either. After about a month and a lot of fighting they finally took the wheels back. IMHO I wouldn't deal with Vivid Racing.

yeah, earlier this year, i e-mailed them trying to purchase a clutch disc only, asked if they could get it for me. they emailed me back 2 days later asking me to clarify which disc i needed (even though i was clear in the original email) so i immediately responded and sent them a link to the product on THEIR website.

then seven days later i received an e-mail saying they were closing the ticket because i didn't respond within 96 hours. (even though i did)

think i'll stick with RHDJapan.

ZE Power MX6: they do mainly subaru/audi. and yes, i think that's how we all do our shopping.

I've never had an issue with RHD Japan. My vote goes to them as I've gotten my FEED parts, URAS parts and more from them. Their prices listed is what you pay.

so vivid comes back today saying they found a different supplier, and they can do it for $675 shipped. lol

$557 is still less than $675 right?
