And coolant needle was way below C. ;) Trying to figure out how to get that gauge to work without having any of that harness there anymore. :(

Snook 04-15-04 09:27 AM

fastcarfreak 04-15-04 10:14 AM

And the standing waves were not enough to blow your eardrums out?

jens.....i'm pretty sure that the stock coolant temp gauge is located under the oil filter area. You should be able to find it. You'll need to wire it straight to the gauge cluster if you removed the whole harness. The same thing w/ the coolant level sensor on the coolant neck. When I installed the microtech on the fc, I left one of the three harnesses in the car and I was able to keep from having to run new wires everywhere. Might want to see if this is possible on the fd as well. Are your windshield wipers working? Cool vids.

Man...that's insane. I get serious issues w/ aerodynamics when the windows are down. Stupid crosswinds. Definetly wouldn't recommend it.

Side fact: the Mazda manual *strongly* recommends you roll up your windows at speeds over 70mph hehe

As for me, I hit 140 a couple of times, and just hit 150 the other day on Rt. 50 East (after it comes outta DC, and goes up toward Annapolis).

XSTransAm, if you ever wanna see 167 again, lemme know...I'll join ya hehe There's this specific stretch on 50 East that's PERFECT. It's 100% perfectly flat, 5 lanes each way, concrete is very smooth, visibility is is well over 2 miles, and NO COPS :D

XSTransAm 04-15-04 06:32 PM

hehe, yeah it was loud as shit with the windows down, i would have put them up had i planned on going that fast, I honestly wasnet planning on it, It just kept going faster *curiosity killed the cat* I got scared at that speed and slowed down though.

it was on 68 out to wvu.

rt 50? your nuts, i see so many cops on that road all the time.

edit: sorry about hijackin the thread im done now :)

btw thats a fast as shit 0-100 time if im counting right.

I'm not really concerned with the stock coolant temp reading due to the fact it wasn't accurate to begin with. I just want to get the coolant level buzzer to work properly. Unfortunately, the wire broke off the sensor and the sensor seems to be stripped. :(
