Vacumn Leak, need help fast.
 

Ok, so I was driving to my buddies house just a few minutes ago and on the way there I decide to get on it a little bit in third gear. As I get into the boost the car started to buck violently like it was dropping boost then building it again almost instantly. I let off the gas and it stopped doing it, I decided against getting into the boost again for the remainder of the drive. As I pushed in the clutch to make a turn, the revs dropped to idle speed but then started jumping back and forth from about 1k to 1.3k in a slow manner. I pulled off the road and popped the hood, I can hear a massive vacum leak somewhere under there but it was far too dark to locate the problem. As I drove on to my friends house I noticed that it would do the slight rev thing at any rpm as soon as i pushed the clutch in but not while it is in gear. I am hoping that I can perhaps get some help or some ideas sent my way before I go take a look at it when the sun comes up. Any help is appreciated.

If you have the stock twins it could be any one of the 85 vacuum lines. Put your ear close and see if you can find it. Check the easy ones first. Don't get your tie caught in the belts!

honestly you are just going to have to look... if its that big it shouldn't be THAT hard to find....

Im sorry, I should have mentioned my relevant mods eh? Wasnt really thinking. I do have a single turbo set up, t04r with a full greddy kit. Anyway, I am about to go take a look hopefully it is fruitful. Thanks for the advice

Have a look at the MAP sensor hose. I don't think it quite matches your symptoms, but it's a very easy check.

Ok, so in the daylight the leak was very east to spot, Ive attached a picture showing where it was. It was on the oil filler neck going into the intake manifold. As soon as I plugged that back in it stopped doing the idle rev deal. I then noticed another leak an issue. My idle was a bit high 1300 or so and If I put my finger over the tip of the hose the idle drops down to the normal 1000 or so. Ive attached a picture showing this hose as well. I put a piece of duct tape over the end of it for a quick fix for the drive home. I tried to get into the boost on the drive home and it continued to do the bucking thing so I stayed out of the boost again. Once back to the barracks I pulled that piece of tape off and took it down the road for a test drive. I could get into it really good through first and second, and at about the top of third it started dropping boost again. As I pushed the clutch in to turn around it was doing the rev thing again. I pulled over and noticed that the oil filler vacum tube had popped out again. I am not sure what is causing this to continually pop out but I am assuming it has something to do with the other leak I found that is making it idle high. I cant see any hoses to connect up to the end of this tube, maybe I am just missing it.

That looks like the PCV that's popping off. The boost pressure could be part of the reason, if the zip ties aren't tight on the hoses.

Keep in mind there are options for removing the PCV in case this continues to be a nuisance.

There are no zip ties on there as far as I can see, not sure if there ever was. Would it be a good idea to put one on there? I dont want to force something that could possibly damage the engine

Go for it. Zip ties won't hurt anything.

I say delete the pcv and run a catch can. Im kinda surprised you havent gone this route at this point. The PCV can be a pain, especialy when it starts to fail, the more stuff you eliminate the less likely things like this will happen.
