vaccum hose upgrade
 

How long should it take my mechanic to do a vaccum hose upgrade? Also what would be a fair price w/o parts "just labor".

well the first time i did it, it took me 3 days but i was going very slow, taking notes, and checking 5-6 times after every moves.

If i had to do it again, it would probably take me a day.

so someone who is not used with the system might take 2 days.

i suggest you do it yourself, it is very instructive.

I did mine by myself also...I would say the main thing is to lable everything you unplug or unhook. and be careful of the plastic nipples on the solenoids...they can be brittle and snap off easily...especially if the hoses are old and hard.
and Yes, I totally agree with Puma, I learned a lot by doing it myself.
My car was out of commission for 3 days as well while I tryied to get everything back in correctly. But I would say that it probably took me 5 hours total work. I also have the shop manual to look at the diagrams showing all the hoses (I believe it was page F-10)
