Vac line simplification/replacement help

im about to jump in and redo my vac lines, my car is stock- should I do a full replacement or shoot for the simplifacation? I just dont understand how to remove solenoids. kind of not grasping it. some help? and is this something easy? ( I know its time consuming but is it hard?)

just take your time, replace 1 line at a time, nows a good time to replace checkvalves, also if you plan on replacing plug wires nows the time to do it as you will have the uim off to do vac lines, probably a good idea to print a pic of rats nest & vac lines to check for proper locations.

Are you having boost issues? If not, just leave them be as you'll do more harm then good. If you are having boost issues, take a look here:

Dave has a write-up about the vacuum hose job.

and.. on a side note

off hand does anyone know if I should go for the simplification or just replacement?
If I went the replacement route I would just take off 1 hose at a time and replace them 1 by 1, to avoid any mix ups.

1. I would recommend NOT doing the simplification unless you understand what/why the hoses are re-routed. If you don't know the current setup, don't change it to something else that you will not have any documentation around.

2. Don't replace the hoses one by one. Why? If you already have a mis-routing, you'll just put that mis-routing back by putting it the same way it was before. Remove all the hoses, and then put them back working along side the vacuum diagram. Re-check your work before you reinstall the solenoid rack into the car.
