Twin Swap trouble
 

Ok, its been a while since I was here since the car has been running ok for the most part, but now I've run into some problems.
The twins have been spitting oil like nobody's business recently (think 1-1.5oz in the intercooler, and a nice film all over the front of the engine bay) so I decided to do a swap with the original set in the car that came out when I swapped the long block. Don't ask why a whole long block and not just the keg, that's a whole other story.
Anyway I stripped things down this afternoon fluids are drained and all that's left is to pull the old twins off the problem is there is no play in the compressor shafts like there should be considering how much oil is leaking and the set I plan to swap in is absolutely filthy. My plan for the "new" set is to soak them in gas/mineral spirits to loosen up all the gunk that has caked on them since they first came off and run a tap through all the mounting threads and flush everything out to make sure its in good shape. The biggest problem I've found is there are NO restrictor pills in either set of turbos so my plan is to do a MBC circa robinette to get around this. Does anyone have any comments or suggestions on this whole situation before I actually do the swap, or does it sound good?

I should also add I am on a bit of a budget as I'm currently out of work, and looking....frantically.

2. clean turbos make sure they are sound...last thing you want is a blown up turbo blade in your motor
3. MBC is fine, done that before but not the most reliable...you shouldn't be running into boost much anyway if you think turbos are bad

i have brand new bnr stage 3's with barely any miles and theres oil in my turbo piping from not having a catch can. just sayin

I know some oil is expected in the intake line, but I doubt more than an ounce in the intercooler is accepted or expected plus the rest of the crap that has been sprayed around the rest of the bay.

I've searched, but I cant seem to find the post where someone found a new site that had exhaust studs and copper nuts that fit for relatively cheap, does anyone have that site bookmarked? I ask because all of the current fasteners are so frozen I NEED to replace whats there with something new and I know I saw this site before but, like an idiot, never bothered to bookmark it while I was there.

i think this is the post your talking about for the copper nuts, not sure if they carry the exhaust studs tho, i know mcmaster carr carries exhaust studs, as long as you know exactly what you need (lenght, pitch, ect)
