Turn off the Cooling fans
 

Hi, I know that the cooling fans are suppsosed to stay on for a little while when I turn the car off, but is there a way that I can turn that feature off? I've killed two batterys and have had to push start my car everytime I wanna go somewhere. What good is the fan doing on when the car is off anyway? What can I do to make the fans turn off when I turn the car off?

sounds like a bad alternator or a short to ground. I would try to nip the problem in the bud rather than just jerry rigging your car.

Look up "fan mod" in a search, make sure you don't already have it done.

Don’t work on fixing something that is not the problem!
Have your battery checked and your charging system checked, usually most places will do it for free if you ask them if you need a new battery.
The fans do something when the car is off, why else would they be programmed to come on if they did nothing.

The fans running for ten mins slows the engine heat soak , so the hoses and wireing will last longer .

Well what I'm having to do now is take out the Cooling Fans Fuse every time I turn the car off for a while. When I do this my car starts fine, but otherwise it kills my battery.

You might want to post this on the NE forum. There are a number of us from DE who may live close by to help. Never had this problem with mine - can't get the fans to run when off. Wish it would but then I'd have to do the fan mod. I just put the hood up in the garage...

this might be a botched fan mod by the previous owner...
