Turbo Timer Question

Hey all,

Im the new proud owner of my first rotor, a black 92 FD. Along with the car came a turbo timer, which I believe to be evil.

To all you guys who use one, do you park your cars in neutral and trust the handbrake to hold it? Even on Steep hills?

I figure this is the only thing to do, apart from sit in the car until it cools down, and then put it into gear, which kinda defeats the point.

Thanks, Rez

throw out the timer, and just drive normal (out of boost) the last minute or two before you know you are going to stop driving. i mean, it's not like you're gonna run 10psi pulling into a parking space and cut the car off! :D

as for the parking brake, you can adjust a nut to make it tighter. pull the plastic arm rest cover off and look under the handle, you'll see it.

You have a 92 FD? Are you sure you didn't mean 93?... Just sit with your car for a minute or two and let it cool down if you are going to park on a hill. For flat areas just use the handbrake.

He means what he said....'92. Location: Australia.

I use a timer and trust the handbrake. If it were a really steep incline (not too often in the US midwest), I'd wait for the turbo timer to do its job and put it in gear after it shuts off. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the advice guys, good to be reassured that im not being stupid for leaving my car in neutral.

And yeah, FDs came out down here in 92. Cool to think that I can be drivin around in a ten year old car that most people down here think is brand new!
