Turbo Timer problem/mistake!!!
 
Do turbo timers have to be connected to the parking brake. I am having a problem of the timer shuting off as i shutoff the car. Now here my mistake, I figured harness smarness, who needs it. It was not that bad actually but it works fine except for the shuting off deal. I am not recieveing a RPM signal, does any one have a ecu diagram they could send me.

I think Rob Robinette has an ECU diagram. You have to connect to wire to the ecu harness before you can get the rpm reading.

I'm gonna guess that you have a new HKS tt?? Yes the parking brake has to be connected. So does the tt work or not, I don't understand?

I have hard wired tt's in before and I will say the harness is worth the $15!

Pop off your center console and wire up the Ebrake. Check your TT instructions, it should say which wire is the RPM signal and where to connect it. I have the HKS Type 1 TT. Its easy.

I had the HKS Type 1 as well. It was a breeze to install. Just plug the harness in and go. Hook up the brown line I think to the e-brake and do, or don't, hook up the Gas Pedal wire. It is more of a safety precaution to stop people from stealing your car while it's running. Unless they are retards then they will know that a car that's running w/ no keys in it and a blinking countdown right on the column would know that it had a Turbo Timer on it and they would either have to disable it or give up.

The the e-brake is the reason it keeps shuting off. I thought you could ground that anywhere. At least I read that on the hks forum. The timer works, i get a voltage reading. It just does not stay on when i turn off the car. again any help is much appeciated

It must be in nuetral with the e-brake handle pulled. If you leave it in gear it's just like having your car on and then taking your foot off the clutch.

So the timer works, it just doesn't do its main purpose. Connect the ebrake wire and it will work.

I hope you're not leaving it in gear when you shut the car off.

Come on...leaving it in gear!!!!!! Look I hooked it up to the e-brake and it still turning off. In the ingition harness, which is the 12 volt constant, 12 volt acc, and the ignition. I put constant to the black wire green stripe; acc to solid light blue wire; ignition to the black wire with white stripe. i grounded the black wire and hooked the gray wire to the ebrake. I have full signal through all the wire. The rpm and speed wire i hooked to the ecu, i am getting a signal but the tt is not reading it. any help is appreciated

I have the same problem with the ebrake wire and the ecu speed wire; but my RPM wire is ok i've got a signal......

I have a greddy turbo timer installed without the harness. My friend installed it for me. But, I noticed that my fans does not stay on after my engine shuts down. I have to put my turbo timer into countdown mode before the fans will turn on. This is getting to be a pain, can anyone help me fix this problem?

Will reinstalling it with the harness eliminate this problem?
