turbo simplification

has anybody done the turbo simplification? i hate the excess of vacuum lines in this car, but i'm figuring if you take away that many lines, something's got to give.

so if you've done it...would you do it again? pretty much any info on this procedure will be greatly appreciated. thankyou

Turbo simplification is somewhat of a misnomer. I would have called it the vacuum hose simplification. It eliminates the ACV (air control valve, needed for emissions controls), EGR (exhaust gas recycler, can be eliminated painlessly on most FD's), and DT (double throttle, can be eliminated with no ill affects). Keep in mind that if you eliminate the ACV, then there is no way you will pass a smog exam. I would only recommend eliminating the emissions controls if you are planning on running straight pipes (no catalytic converters). If you still have a stock or modified stock ECU, then you will need to perform the "relay trick" to prevent the ECU from throwing a CEL (check engine light and code). If you are just looking to clean up your engine bay, then you can also install ball-spring manual boost controllers to eliminate more solenoids.

phishie,

In another thread you posted that you needed a rear quarter panel. It took me a few days, but I posted pics and never heard from you. Do you still need it?
