Lots of horror stories and failures trying to rebuild stock twins, lots of folks have tried the rebuild route.
So you can either try and get a set of good used ones (a crap shoot), or buy a new set.
If you're buying a new set I'd get the BNR's, they're both cheaper, more reliable (I think $800 cheaper, last time I looked they were $2100 I think), and support more boost.
Only problem running more boost with BNR's is that the stock systems actuators (and from what I have seen the solenoids) don't support much over 11-12 psi. If you look at the FSM it even states in several places that anything over 11-12 psi can damage the actuators. I don't know if this is true but I'm running modest power levels so haven't pushed the stock system to find out.
