Umm.. Kinda depends on what you're looking for..

i.e. Some people are happy with a reliable low boost/low stress setup making 350rwhp and some people think they are professional drag racers and want 600rwhp.. There is no universal "best" turbo so to speak, it's all on what will best fit your hp goal, driving style, etc.

not really looking for big number, just a little more than what I would get out of upgraded twins and the simplification of a single.

Well that gives a little insight, still need to know do you have an porting done to your motor? What are your goals for the future? Is spool time a big concern?

I would probably say go with the t04s even if you have a stock port, so you have room to grow if you want. If you have a stock port maybe stick with the p-trim, and either .84(If spool time is an issue) or .96 a/r If you have a ported motor get the q-trim .96 a/r, etc. Some people may say t04e but IMO doesn't leave alot of room to grow. But that's just my opinion and as we know everyone has one.

I don't know. I'm not really big on o,p,q trim and A/R numbers. That's why I'm asking

I think you just answer my question. Now what does all that q, p, o trim means? Thanx

Qouted by RETed in a post in the single turbo section and from what I've read seems to be pretty much true:

"Those are turbine wheel trims for Garrett T04 series of turbos.

They basically come in O-trim, P-trim, and Q-trim.
The turbine wheels gets larger from left to right.
An O-trim wheel should be avoided, as it's too small for a 13B.
The P-trim is the standard wheel for a 13B.
I have heard reliability problems with the Q-trim wheel, so I can't recommend them myself. Maybe others can add their experiences?

Basically, you want the biggest wheel turbine wheel trim you can get. Too small of a turbine wheel, and you choke the exhaust flow too much."

Although I know alot of people that insist P-trim if you have a stock port, I probably would get the Q-trim as I don't mind lag, and would like to know I have no problems with flow. I also would probably get the .96 even on a stock port, and would look for bigger exhaust a/r on a ported motor. Basically the bigger exhaust housing a/r(.84, .96, 1.15 or dare I even say 1.32), the more top end you'll have and more "lag time" you'll have. The smaller exhaust housing a/r, the faster the turbo will spool, however you in some instances may "choke" the motor on the top end. Again you don't want anything O-trim and don't go anything under .84 even on stock ports. Most imports use tiny exhaust housing a/r's(like .54, stuff like that) however the rotary flows alot of exhaust pressure. If you should happen to go with say a .84 P-trim exhaust housing and want to upgrade to a .96 Q-trim exhaust housing later, that is also possible. The other thing you have to watch is some exhaust housings are divided and some are non-divided. Divided exhaust housings when coupled with a divided exhaust manifold will help decrease lag. 1.15 and 1.32 exhaust housings are divided, I however don't about .84 and .96. (I believe .84 is but .96 isn't or backwards?)

HTH

Now after ALL that talk about exhaust housing A/R and Trim's, for an A/R on the cold side don't go any smaller that .70 a/r for a rotary. On most turbo's, this is the A/R you're going to stick with on the intake side. You may seem some with a .60 a/r on the intake or cold side, but ideally you want .70 a/r on the intake side for a rotary.

I tried to cover alot, but may have missed somethings as there is alot that goes into turbo selection but I have to go do my taxes..

But doesn't exhaust have to gather at the turbine anyhow, it's just that you're getting 2 strong puffs of air / cycle instead of 2 partially delluted ones. since the other rotor houseing is in a different combustion cycle...

Am I close here !??

WTF is a "NOS spool up kit"? So you NEED a NOS shot to spool a t88H on a 20B? Are you serious? If so switch engine builder immediately.. Don't know the exhaust housing a/r on the H but in all honesty you should have no problem spooling that on a 20B. What psi do you normally run? So I have to say your story looks a little false. But the way it goes is dyno sheets talk and BS walks, so post 'em..

T-88 + NOS is too much for me.
