I don't think that they throw away the entire car, they collect the roofs off of FD's. When you get enough, you turn them in and it buys children time on a kidney dialysis machine. At least that's what "some guy" told me.

no, some guy told me it's the hoods - because they're aluminum and it's not legal to throw away aluminum in California
