trouble getting the FD started..
ok so n my recetntly purchased FD ive been noticing that on a cold start it takes a lil while to actually crank over and start.....just was wondering if this was a normal thig.......it doesnt just start up like any normal car..lol
mine tends to do it, thats just b/c i dont start it up everyday, it sits in my driveway, =) until im done w/ it, but if its not ur daily driver go outside and start it every once in a while, keep it fresh, the battery might be going dead as well, keep that in mind.. but when it does turn over, yea, it usually takes a while to kick, its not a problem.. just tempormental issues, its ur FD hating u b/c u dont drive it.. =)
thats the thing i do drive it everyday...it used to be my daily driver...and now everyonce in awhile it will take a little longer then normal.....then have a little backfire sound....but only sometimes it does that?
oh i see.. hhmm... well, i know some symptoms of rebuilds, but, b4 u worry about a rebuild, get some other opinions, but, 3-5 turnovers to start engine, white smoke after about 10 minutes of warm-up time.. and also if ur car has around 40 - 60k miles on it.. =/
or it might be as simple as the starter.. never know.. u should replace the starter and see wut that does.
Did you check the battery first?
will get my starter checked out...yeah the battery i brand new....so the battery is out....there is no smoke at all...the engine has around 32,000
