Trouble bracket
 
Noob noob question. I cannot get this braket off.. screw spins and I get anything on the other side to stop it from spinning as their is no room, anything pointers?

I think the bolt on that bracket is supposed to be welded on. Sounds like the weld broke.

You'll need to find a way to lock it down somehow - vice grips or something medieval.

Once you get the bracket out you maybe can have it welded up and fixed or it may just be worth getting a good used one, they should be a dime a dozen. This isn't a common problem.

Thanks dale for that, Ive been fighting it for a few days I thought maybe there was a special tool I wasn't aware off but I will try jamming something in there maybe some jb weld would work ?

Nope, JB weld would snap off immediately. It can't take shear loads.

Worst case you'll have to cut it or something.

Figure I'll cut the nut, replace it & weld screw back on

The bolt is supposed to have a tab to keep it in the alternator bracket and prevent it from spinning. You need a narrow profile wrench. Snapon makes them.
