Triple Turbo's?

Would it be economically feasible (im pretty sure its physically possible) to get a Triple Turbo system for a 3rd gen Rx-7?

1FAST7 03-23-02 11:12 AM

I dont think its possible. I've only seen it done on a supra.

but why have 3 turbos, i say go for Single!!!

There's pictures of the 20B triple turbo floating around on the Forum somewhere.

 20B Tri-Turbo...

JONSKI 03-23-02 11:18 AM

Why would you want a triple turbo?

Lost Time 03-23-02 11:19 AM

Hey Nick, great sig.

ttpowerd 03-23-02 02:35 PM

Seen the triple turbo 3 rotor....that is a plumbing nightmare...hoses and pipes running everywhere. I don't think you would want a triple turbo even though it is possible

JoeD 03-23-02 02:46 PM

it would be impossible to have a tri-turbo setup on a 2-rotor 13B. now it is possible on a 3-rotor 20B, or 6-rotor (40B?)...:)

I think Racing Beat ran a tri-turbo setup in an FD on the Bonniville Salts flats it was in one of there catalogs for products. The tri-turbo setup wasnt forsale it just mentioned the car and its top speed.

I believe it was 247 mph or something like that, for an average of 242 mph.

Racing Beat doesn't need wings to go airborne. ;)

MattZeeTerror 03-23-02 11:23 PM

Ya, if you see the movie, it kinda went airborne by itself :)

diablone 03-23-02 11:34 PM

yeah the dont need wings to fly, but the car that went airboene was not the 242mph car, it was the previous years white car. i think the white car went airborne at 215mph or so. the next year they came 'back in black' with the 242 mph black car (AND much more downforce) :)

I don't see how that is accurate.
