this is an eletrical turbo compressor system, it's not one of those tornado fuel savers you see on T.V., it's a real turbo compressor, check out the webpage. It received top 50 product of the year, at SAE in 1999.

The #1500 specs are: 4psi boost, 12 volt, 95 amp current draw. These units spool up from 0 to 30,000 rpm in 1/3 second so there is supposed to be no turbo lag. The current draw on spoolup is approx 10amp more
than the above listed running current draw.

Single turbo guys can use this to spool up their big singles. For stock twins, since this turbo use electricity to power it, it should have little heat, you can problaby run it directly to the throttle body w/o going through the intercooler.

Dude you cant just add air without adding fuel. Especially four psi. The machine probably does create 4psi but I can immagine the type of stress on the alternater that will put. You will end up loosing power from that alone. Running lean is not exactly a good idea on a rotary. If this thing worked like the venom nitrous system and had a computer that was hooked up to your fuel injectors...then it would work. The venom nitrous system works based off rpm and throttle angle. People always blow these inventions off immediately. That tornado product is, however, retarded. And that other electrical supercharger that makes like 1psi boost. This one actually looks pretty cool and functional. But providing boost with no additional fuel can do no good. I dont know if the RX7 stock computer can handle this change in boost patern. If it could, then I would see no problem except for stress on the alternator. If you hooked the thing up to a capacitor (like they do in high power sound systems) then you would be fine because when the turbo is not running you could charge up the capacitor. This turbo would only be used in first gear in a racing scenario How much does this thing cost?

looks cool, garrett is working on the same thing along with a few other new turbo technologies (air bearings for one). But like chacidu said, boosting four psi is gonna require more fuel and that will probably mean some sort of progammable fuel mangemant. Anyone thnk the PFC can handle the job?

Yeah I remember seeing something about that garett project. It looked pretty interesting. I really do think that, if this turbo produces 4psi then with an increase in fuel it would be a worthwhile product. On the sight I think it says you need 1kW of power to produce 4kW. Thats maybe like 1.3hp for 5.2 hp. It is probably very expensive from the looks of it.
