Well my input barring is going out, so either I pull and rebuild 10.3 hours according to auto-mechanic guide, or pull and replace 3.7 hours. I was wondering if anyone new a good transmission to purchase aftermarket so forth and maybe a link or a few prices. Thanks.

you can buy low mileage jdm trannys for ~400-500 iirc. there was a thread about this about 2-3 weeks ago.

I believe Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda can sell you a complete set of bearings and synchros for about $600.

Just another option if you're mechanically inclined.

I would recommend buying the JDM and swapping it in. Worst case, the JDM isn't as good as promised and you swap again with the fully-rebuilt one.

Personally, I work in a 1-car garage. I should have thought to swap in a late-model JDM and rebuild or sell mine, it would have been much easier. This way you get the better 5th ratio, updated internals of the JDM for a very good price. Then you can choose whether or not to rebuild yours.

In any case, consider www.gttransmissions.com for your synchros and rebuild parts. They have much better parts than Mazda, but I've never ordered from them.

So there are no after market tranys for this car? Thats odd i think, or a brand new one? I meen pulling and rebuilding is not a problem but 10.7 hours esitmation time. I would rather just pull and reaplace, if the price is right.

There are no 100% bolt-in options to speak of.

IMO rebuilding is beyond a 10.7hr job unless you're going to a tranny shop that specifically has experience with this gearbox. It's cheaper to swap in a rebuilt and sell yours afterward.

Well i have been searching the internet for like an hour looking for a transmission for my car. Where would i find a JDM transmission?

eBay or this forum. The sellers seem to be either in Fla or Cali.
