TPS disconnected car runs perfect, TPS connected car runs BAD

I tried 2 different TPSs and the car is heavily modded..

Aside from my problems on the general tech section of this forum:

When I have my TPS connector plugged in the car won't rev past 3 rpm and when I give it gas it revs in surges/jumps(500-700 rpm) not smoothly....

When I have the TPS disconnected the car idles and runs like it did before the problem occurred I can rev up to whatever perfect and it revs smoothly like it always did...................

the strangest part is that it doesn't die when I give it throttle while the TPS is unplugged...... Is this the Fcon vpro (piggyback that works like a standalone) compensating???

plz help

sounds like your tps is completely out of adjustment,
check https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...tps+adjustment
to learn how to adjust your tps.

Thanks, I had that thread pulled up, but have a few questions if you don't mind.

When I take off the sensor itself, should I be able to move the metal pins ? I can't even budge them... also should the metal pins be sitting inside the pockets of the TPS sensor or behind the pockets?

Thanks

EDIT: the metal pins move, but it's VERY tight, is this normal?

hmmm I never pulled my sensor completely off before, so not really sure. But, to adjust these sensors, you just loosen one of the two screws and move the sensor until all the voltages are within spec. Since I have a powerFC with commander, so I have someone on the inside monitor the VTA1 and VTA2 voltages and go wot for me when needed while the Key is in the ON position, but Engine Off, while I adjust the TPS, which makes the TPS adjustment super easy.
