Touring Bose cd player, help!

Well, after two years of my FD sitting in my garage, I finally got around to shipping it to the RX7store. They did an awesome job on the car. Regardless, my cd player has always worked fine. Well the car sat for two years, I get it back, and it still works, just it will pause when it wants to, cut it and out, then pause for a while, then ejects the cd. I thought the eye may have been dusty so I used a can of duster on it. They didn't remedy the problem, any suggestions?

Either pull it out and send it to be repaired:

or buy a new head unit. They just go bad, it's been a problem with them from the beginning. I would recommend just getting a newer more modern head unit instead of repairing the factory one.

Not really an option anymore. The parts necessary for repair are unavailable, so this company no longer repairs either the head-unit or the CD player.

same thing happens with mine... just get a new one!

get a nice double din alpine or something, and forget about the stock headunit.

it's what I had to do, and I'm glad I did it.

Another option if you absolutely must keep the factory appearance is to buy an updated OEM unit:

Has anyone done this? Is it a direct, bolt in replacement that works perfectly and requires no modification or adaptation to fit?

I just may be interested in that upgrade. However it looks as though the center section may have to be removed..... is there a center piece between the radio and the CD player? I can't remember... and how about the plug in... does it match up? & I guess it would be compatible with the BOSE system?

I am highly interested in the spirit R head unit. But, does it come with the 6 disc changer. In the pics, it says to load the 6 disc changer press load. I don't see load, therefore what the fuck?
