topend power lacking...
my FD feels like its down on power... I'd have to say probably 50hp or so.0-4500RPM it's got tons of power, but it just doesn't "pick up" as well above that.
The boost pattern is inconsistant as well. sometimes I get a perfect 10-8-10... sometimes, I get 10psi - 8psi - 12psi, when it does this the car is slower. If I let off and get back on the gas at say, 5000RPM, it will properly respool at 10PSI and the car goes again. The car seems to have a slight misfire at high RPM, veeerrry slight though. I don't think this is the issue. Car has dual cone filters, 3" downpipe/midpipe/catback to stock muffler. Going to replace the stock muffler soon as it has a couple holes in it now. No fuel mods of any kind, going into the dealership shortly though to replace the coolant lines and fuel hoses as per the recall. running v-power or sunoco 94 octane in the car, doubt that matters but just so I've listed everything. |

Therefore, check out your ignition components: plugs, wires, coils, etc., even battery voltage. Dave |
that's good advice dave.
I have a really nice new set of plug wires sitting in my garage, I should probably go ahead and put them on... maybe change my plugs too. what plugs should I get for the FD, BUR9EQ's all around? |
change the plugs and wire first. I would check the battery voltage like Dave said, but as also prementioned the coils could be shot. Stock ECU?
