Too high of fuel pressure wtf?

Anyone ever heard of high fuel pressure? I think my gauge is broken but i recently installed a prosport electric fuel pressure gauge..im sure i did the install correctly...the car reads 42psi at idle and as i add throttle it will increase to 50psi...its never below 42 i thought these cars are supposed to idle at 38? could this be the culprit of my running rich

I assume stock fuel pressure regular?

Is the stock regulator still setup to run through the solnoid? How are the lines going to it? What is the fuel pump voltage?

My car runs ~38psi @ idle and raises to about 40 when lighly revving.

This is off a mechanical autometer gauge mounted in the engine bay.
