Tokico Install?

Just wondering what everyone's paying (I know, I should do it myself, don't start) for their suspension installs? I was quoted $580 for my tokico's and eibach springs. This seemed a bit high to me, but I just wanted to make sure.

that's probably right

Just think about the hours it would take to install them multiplyed by the shops hourly wage. In their books it is probubly a 6 or more hour job so that seems to be about right.

580 just for labor? or new parts + labor?

rynberg 01-09-07 07:17 PM

That is way too much. A shop shouldn't charge more than 3 hours or so for that.

Mahjik 01-09-07 08:10 PM

I agree that's too much. Most places I've seen charge about $200 for a spring install. Its pretty much the same labor to do just springs as it is to do springs & shocks.

Are you serious? Damn, Ive worked for a tuner shop before. I could knock out a drop with the camber correction kit in about 1-1.5 hours. I dont think RX7s have camber correction kits, so even easier. If thats how much my boss was chargin....fuck...i cant wait to have my own shop. I'll be rolling in $$$.

that's WAAAYYYYY too much if its only for labor... $580 is CRAZY RIP OFF.

shops in Cali usualy only charge average $80 ~ $160 for spring/shock install.

1QWIK7 01-09-07 09:08 PM

Thats a ripoff.

Some shops i know charge 40 per wheel.

JDawG707 01-09-07 09:13 PM

if u were local, i would do it for 150$'s and lunch :) lol but ur not..but that is high unless u get a full warranty, at my work we charge 110$'s/hour

XxMerlinxX 01-09-07 10:25 PM

I was pretty sure that was off. Our labor rates around here are only $75/hour-$80/hour, which puts it at around 7 and a half hours.

IRPerformance 01-09-07 10:35 PM

Should be a 5-6 hour job by the book. What are they charging per hour?
