Tips on the warantee company

Ok so for starters, Whaawho!!! I FINALLY got my car back! after 2 months waiting for a new motor. That breaks downt to 56 days to get a repair authorization and 4 days to get the new motor and turbos and install them.

Needless to say my warantee compnay did not want to do the job. Espically since this was the second motor under warantee.

I bought my warantee from the dealer when I bought the car used. So the condition of the car was exactly know as represented by the dealer and supported by an inspection from a certified factory mechanic. Those buying warantees off the internet may get screwed if an inspection fothe car is not required, the company may thy to claim pre-existing condition.

The warantee was $2300 for the 48K mile 48 mo top of the line package (includes gaskets and advanced electronics).

So first they inspected the car. They are looking for modifications and eveidence of track time. Stuff like air boxes and IC's are going to get your claim declined.

Then they asked for the maintainance records. They areally wanted the oil change records. Yeah that's right, like recepts from a mechanic. I don't know if oil & filter recepts with the mileage recorded on them would work or not.

Ok so once you have the your oil change records, they send a second guy out to inspect the car. Assuming he give the same report then you wait.

And wait, and oh yes....wait. My company had sixty days to decide before I could fiels acomplaint with thier parent company (it was detailed in my contract). So on the 56th day, THEY decided.

Boom, you get a repair authoization and the Mazda deal installs a rebuilt motor and turbo. Calls you four days later and say, "I'm gonna need $48 from you and come get the car."

Aw yeah, that's right. After all that bull-shit you get a motor and turbos for like $50. They likely used to shit rebuilder for the turbos buthte motor is a Mazda reman (for waht that's worth) with a one year warantee from the company.

So I've got 450 miles on it since Thursday night. It's burned almost 3 qts of oil. Not so good I think. Maybe it will seal up yet. I hope I don't have a heart attack letting all these honda's down shift next to me and "take off"
 unitl then.

Yeah man warranty companies are crap. I have been trying to transfer the warranty into my name. They sure as hell deposited the check for my transfer fee... but it's been like 2 or 3 weeks and no word or paperwork from them. The previous owner said that they didn't want to cover the engine rebuild and he hit them with a lawsuit. I also had coverage questions when I received my car so I called them. I work in a phone center so I was trying to be as nice as possible because there are so many rude people. Yeah well they said I had no coverage because it wasn't in my name yet. I am like yeah I was asking you if it would cover this after the transfer. So they had this huge attitude with me and I ended up learning nothing. Oh I can't wait to deal with them about actually getting the repairs.

I have 2nd turbo problems so if I don't shift at 4k then you can feel the car lurch forward instead of feeling the 2nd turbo kick in. I know about those Hondas dropping too... I just pretend I am too quick to race them, lol. Oh well, life’s a bitch. It sucks because this is the way I got my car and I haven't felt the power above 4k yet :(

I don’t know much to say about what you could do with yours besides bitch at them more. Good luck with your repairs though.

Chris
