Timing mark on REW engine?
 

Hi!
Im a 2gen guy but since i have a REW engine now i ask here ;)
Ive tried to search but i cant find it anywere and the FSM doesnt work on my lap ?! :/
Soo, does anyone know what degrees the white mark on the trigger wheel is?

I might be confused as to what you're asking, but you don't manually adjust the timing, you adjust it through the computer (if you're aftermarket that is). It's not like the TII where you can manually adjust it. I'm pretty sure that didn't answer your specific question but maybe it will save you from looking further haha.

The FD front stack hub has a pair of small protrusions/index marks and the trigger wheel can only bolt up one way. You don't have to set timing :)

Yea i know. I got autronic SMC but i need to set the timing to zero. Therefor it would be nice to know what the white mark on the wheel is so i can measure it from there. if you guys understand? :P

That's what we're saying. The wheel goes on only one way. The crank angle sensors read off the wheel and feed the info to the computer. If you have an aftermarket computer and you can access it with a laptop you should be able to change the timing that way. There is no way to adjust the timing like you do on the FC, it is only adjustable through the computer.

Basically, finding a white mark on the wheel (if there even is one) won't help you because it only fits on one way and there is no other way to adjust it without going through the computer. You ARE referring to the wheel behind the crank pulley right?

are you asking whether the white mark is at 0 degrees or -5 ?

yeah arghx! I gotta know whether its 0 -5 -10 or what ever! If not i wont be able to set the correct timing in the ECU. I know i cant do it in the same way but i need to know that if the ecu shows 0 degrees it is 0 degrees.. =) Fex, now the computer shows 15 BTDC but i know its not 15BTDC :P

So, what degrees is the white mark on the trigger wheel? :D
I understand its hard to understand since my english is poor..

According to page G-17 of the FSM, the mark on the "crankshaft position sensor plate" indicates 20 degrees after TDC (-20 degrees advance).

I didnt get the answere i hoped for though.. hehe.. If it had been -10 my ignition would`ve been correct. Now i have to drill new holes in the triggerwheel to adjust it 20 advance. Im quite "done" playing with the autronic SMC and make it work with a 13b..

does anyone know where or have information on understanding the degrees/timing and air fuel ratios and crap like that.every time i open up my laptop on my FD to see what is doing i get a headache because i don't understand a god damn thing.

Hello everyone I know this thread is old now but after hours of searching the forum it has some of the more useful information so figured I would try and see if I can get a better understanding. So I recently rebuilt my engine in my 94 fd did large street port on both the irons and houseings used all Adkins parts with mazda apex seals and new bearings from mazda. Got the engine in the car got it started (had to pull start) after that it would start on it's own but would only idle for a few minutes and then die now the car wont start on it's own. But my question is will the car account for timing on it's own? I'm running a prc and the car ran on it before the build. Not sure if the timeing is way out or not any help is greatly appreciated

If the car did start and idle on it's own for "a few minutes" then I don't think it's a timing issue.

Ok well that's a good thing I'm thinking anyway lol. So do you think it is possible that the injectors are plugged up since I deleted the omp and I might have been a little generous on the premix for the amount of gas I had in the car!
