throttle body adjustment
 

so after going through tons of threads with mixed info on how to set up the plates the only thing i got is this

the vertical screw should be screwed out all the way so the throttle hits the stop
the air bleed screw should be screwed all the way in
the horizontal screw should be screwed out to smooth the idle


is this right or is there a better way to set up the throttle body right?

I put the screw up top (which physically moves the throttle body plates) all the way out, since screwing it in throws off your low TPS readings (since the plates can't close all the way). Then I screw the adjustment under the throttle body all the way in, then back it out about a half a turn (if it's all the way in to start, the car typically stalls). Start the car and adjust the screw under the throttle body to change the idle once it's warmed up. This procedure only works of course if everything else is in order (eg. TPS voltage, no leaks past the throttle body, etc, etc).

on another members thread they said you can adjust idle by the horizontal allen stop screw on the throttle body can i do that too or can i only do it by the air bleed screw?

I've never had a reason to use it, so I don't know.

IMO, the "stop" screws are to be used only to get the minimum throttle-plate opening w/o binding.
