To those who have installed a 99 Spec Spoiler!

I know there are countless threads on this, but i can't find what i need.

I just bought a used OEM 99 Spec spoiler. I own a 93 touring with no spoiler (no existing drilled holes).

The 99 Spec has 4 mounting points on each pedastal (8 total).

2 bolt holes
1 alignment pin
1 plastic snap in plug

Question: I am safe to install this spoiler (structurally) with only using the 2 bolt holes? Or do i need the snap in plug hole drilled also? Trying to avoid drilling unneccesary holes in my car.

dont do it with 2 bolts on the highway speeds are high enough to put force on the wing , if its just an asthetic it wont even look good atleast mine didn't sit flush with only 2 bolts I'd just do it the right way

Tem- Thanks for the input.

Did you also use/drill the alignment pin hole?

Just recycling old thread. What did you guys end up doing for the extra 2 holes? I see that plugs are used to cover the area. Where can I source the plug?

Thanks.

the 3 99 wings i installed on the 3 of my FDs only used 3 of the 4 mount points and everything is, has and will continue to be fine. as tem120 said DO NOT only use the 2 outside points. it doesnt make the wing very secure and the wont sit flush. the plastic clip part, i dont use. i just use the 3 other points and my wing sits flush and is as secure as its going to be. install with confidence that youre only using 6 of the 8 points.

The Bolt holes may be different on 93 compared to the 99 spec spoiler but, remove the trim and have a look on the inside of the tailgate there may be some signs of where the original fitments were?

they are different.... very different. holes will need to be drilled. theres no way around it.

I have a 94 touring with factory spoiler. I read that two holes match up and one needs to be matched up per side?

I read that I will end up with two holes all said and done?

do you have a 99 wing on hand? it would be pretty easy to figure out
