for thoes running non-seq

i have been running non-seq for about a year now and i was wondering when all of you get full boost by at WOT. i have searched and it seems like everyone gets full boost by 3800 rpms. for some strange reason i am hitting 11 psi around 4500 rpm which makes me think that my turbos are going out.... i just want to know if my turbos are in need of a rebuild since i am not reaching max boost at 3800 rpms. my mods are listed in my sig and my car is running really rich. could my ported motor and the fact that i am running rich cause my non-seq twins to spool up slower? i am in positive boost at 3k at 4k i am around 5 psi and at 4500-5000 i am at 11 psi. i also have the stock ic so do you think an upgraded IC will help spool up?

hmm my sig isnt showing up so here are my mods:

-rotary power race ported engine
-HKS duel polished intakes
-HKS DP
-HKS hiper CB
-Greddy pullies
-apexi PFC

Depending on how much your engine is ported, I think that would have something to do with it. An intercooler will probably make you spool a bit slower due to the pressure drop. Also running rich will slow your spool up. You mind need to re-map you power fc. On the other hand even though you build boost slower, you should make more high end hp. Just keep the rpms in that range, meaning if you shift at higher rpms when upshifting, you'll stay around your 4500 into the next gear.

i have the full non-sequential done and i see full boost between 3K and 3.5K

What gear/speed are you talking about? If I lug it and floor the car in 3rd gear, I'd get full boost (12lbs) around 4K RPM.

I have a large street port, full intake, full exhaust EXCEPT a silencer in the N1. Silencer makes a huge difference in spool time. I would make full boost by 3.5K RPM but I would also overboost :( Now that we've got emissions testing, that problem will be something of the past /w a hi-flow cat.

I'm running stock turbos in Non-seq and stock intercooler with a Petit computer making my mixture way to rich. I have all the proper ducting working ('99 Jspec bumper) and taped open intercooler holes (crossover). Maybe a tiny difference. It stays pretty cool up here in PA, especially with all this white stuff all over the road.

Alan, could it be the fact that you are still running the stock main cat? I midpipe or high flow cat would be a big difference.

are you full non seq? my car hit full boost at ~3500 with full non seq, ported turbos, manifold and streetport. a cat could be holding you back as well. btw i will be listing my ported twins and manifold(15k miles) for sale in the very near future

I concur with this.

yep...midpipe is a must for non-seq. ....

yea i am stilling running on the stock cat. i will be adding on a FMIC and a resonated MP within a month so hopefully this will reduce my lag.

if i am hitting 11 psi all the time at 5k do u think my turbos maybe going out? i have never heard of cases where turbos were going out because they were not spooling fast enough only when they are not boosting at their correct boost setting.

i guess the only way for me to find out is it throw the MP on and tune the car.
