Think my Air Pump is going bad?
 

Hi all. Well maybe someone can verify this for me.
Was getting gas and before I shut the car off I noticed the Charge light start to illuminate along with the Oil press. and Coolant light. The car started to idle rough. So I gas it some gas and the lights sarted to go off, but once I lifted off the gas back to idle they came back on and the car started idleing rough again. I checked under hood and heard a clicking noise every few seconds, further inspection clicking was from the Air pump clutch engaging and disengaging.
Pump going Bad?

NO. Not your air pump. That cycling is normal air pump operation under certain conditions.

Have no idea. Perfect time to take it off though! :naughty:

Check the wiring diagram, sounds like a universal short perhaps?

Alt. was my first thought, but seemed to be given the correct output when tested and wasn't sure about the Air Pump.
Luckly I have a Polished Alt. in the garage.

When the alt goes bad, the car cannot supply enough juice to fully engage the electro-magnetic clutch on the airpump, hence the clicking sound.

Got the old one out, now just have to change the pulley tomorrow and stick the polished one back in. If it doesn't rain all day.
