Things are really moving along now. . .fuel injectors?
 

Some of you have been really helping me along with my project. . .I've now got the solenoid rack and fuel rails off. I'm replacing the hoses now, and can easily access the OMP lines now. Once the rails came off it was like a light bulb being lit up, and everything now makes sense.

So my question. . . I was originally going to send my injectors off to be cleaned. They look in pretty good shape, the little plastic part at the bottom is cracked on one, but otherwise they look okay. I don't know what is involved when you send them away, I assume the would replace the little plastic pieces and give you new o-rings??

How many cc's are the stock injectors? Is there an injector out there that is just a even swap? I mean I see some bosch ones out there for like $90 each. If it's going to cost me $35 each to have them cleaned it seems like a better value to just buy new ones, I just want to get the right ones.

The technical term for "the little plastic piece at the bottom" might be helpful also.

The injectors are cleaned internally and tested for proper operation and flow, you really can't tell there condition visually. The stock injectors are 550cc and 850cc and are about $140.00 each.
The cap on the bottom is a pintle cap and can be replaced.
I've been very happy with RC Engineering and Witchhunter comes highly recommended also.

Gordon from Witchhunter already e-mailed me back (on a Sunday no less). They replace the o-rings and pintle caps as part of their service for $15 per injector. I think I'll be going that route.
