Is there any way to lower seat height?

Hey guys!

I know they say there's no such thing as a stupid question, but I enjoy pushing the envelope.

Obviously I have the same issue that a lot of people have with a lack of headroom in my FD - now, it's my understanding that the J-spec recaros sat an inch lower, but I don't have that kind of coin lying around

...so my question is this; is there a way to retain the OEM seats, but lower them? is there a shorter bracket available or some other similar solution?

Thanks guys

May have to modify a bit, but most aftermarket brackets lower the seat height.

How tall are you? I am 6'1 and fit fine, never hit my head and love to drive it.

I'm 6'3 and don't have a problem... I just tilt the seat back more then I normally would in an 'average' car and it works fine...

Plus mines JDM, I've heard some guys in the US complain they have even less room for the driver then USDM models.. But that was years ago I remember reading that..

You could take the seats apart, and cut some of the seat foam out...

Yeah i figured i might end up looking at aftermarket rails with the OEM seats. Im only 6'1, but it seems my torso is disproportionately tall because my head clears the roof by about 1cm. If my hair's long it touches lol. Seriously.

I'm in for some info on this. I'm 6'1" as well. I wish we had a tilting steering wheel as its impossible for me to heel-toe. My knees hit the steering column :(

There's a thread running concurrently on helmet choice - which has actually produced a wealth of information on THIS topic -
