temp issues

i am having temp issues with my car still, it still gets pretty hott i have the defi bf gauges the thing starts to beep when it gets above 104l, i have upgraded the radiator only thing i dont have is the aftermarket ast on it. all the recalls have been done on it as well but only thing i am missin on my car is the undertray cuz i took it sum shop those idiots never put it back but thas tottally different issue so my question is can undertray make that big of difference that it will cause ur temps to go high! i remeber like going up on the mountians locally here wit my friend hes temps stayed fine while my temps still climbin wit the fan on med i think!! i hve changed my Tstat soo yea but i am still goin get new one again the one that opens much more quicker then the one i have in their already!! what else could i do? their was a thread while ago i cant rember wat it was and it was pretty big thread too it was regarding some switch well anywayz any help would be much apperciated

If your Thermostat is opening like it should, then one that opens at a lower temp won't help. Drive with your headlights or bumper lights on, and that should turn the fans on at a cooler temp. I think the thread you're looking for is for the FC thermoswitch. It kicks your fans on at 205F. I think the stock temp it turns on is like 220 or something, which is too hot IMO. How do your radiator fins look? Are you using the stock waterpump belt?

Yes, the undertray makes a big difference.

That shop owes you a new undertray.

Undertray makes a huge differance as well as proper ducting around the radiator. Air will always take the path of least resistance. When the air travels through the mouth of your car and hits the radiator, some of the air will pass though those small fins, however those thin little fins will also create resistance when more air is being forced through. When this happens a pressure wave builds up in front of the radiator and the air will reverse course and find the next easiest path out the vehicle. In your case the air will travel undernieth the bottom. In some custom installs it's usually around the sides of the radiator because people forget to install proper ducting around the radiator so the air isn't being forced through. Radiators are heat exchangers, so for them to be most effective, you need as much air to past through them as possible.
