Banzai Racing has some information that you mind useful in their Tech Articles:
http://www.banzai-racing.com/ Click Tech Support - > Scroll down to: FD3s Fuel Pulsation Damper Elimination It's not exactly what you're doing but I think it might put you closer to an answer of what type of tap to purchase. |
You are going to want to tap for 1/4 npt and then get a 1/4npt to 6an adapter.
|
ok i will look into it
|
ok cool so 1/4 npt is like .56 inch. dont know why i didnt think of that lol brain fart thanks for the help guys

are you gonna eliminate the FPD? I'd love to see some pictures or a short write up of taps/fittings you use(d) as you do this. My UIM and LIM are both off atm and I've been thinking about doing the same project.

I am in the middle of doing alot of things to my car but as for fuel rail i am using bosch 1680 secondarys with a Fjo injector driver and stock fd 850's in the primary fuel rail and i am using a rising rate aeromotive FPR and yes i am getting rid of the FPD. I found that using aluminum tube is cheaper than steel braided and regular an fittings so i will take progress pics and make a thread on how to do step by step when i get time

I'm looking to do this, but I'm concerned that I won't be able to get get a fitting that clears the OMP nozzles - most people that tap the rail seem to run premix? I've got some forged 90's to try but I'm not convinced they'll clear :(
|
premix regardless if you have the OMP connected. if you delete the OMP just premix more... but always always always premix.
|
Sorry, I meant eliminate the OMP injectors and solely run premix.

http://www.banzai-racing.com/how_to/...on/fitting.jpg you can install a 45 degree 6AN fitting (i.e. Summit Racing Part #SUM-220655). This allows clearance of the rear oil injector. |
This link works, http://www.banzai-racing.com/pd_elimination_how-to.htm punctuation always messes with links :)

I just did this last night, I happen to use a 90 degree -6an fitting to push loc hose -6an type of 3/8 is the same size, the 90 degree clear oil injectors but if u keep your rats nest u will have to slightly bend it towards to the tranny side, but it work.

ok so this is weird. i tapped my primary fuel rail for 1/4- 18 npt and it was so freaking tight screwing it in that it actually broke the primary fuel rail and put a crack in it. im thinking that the tap is faulty or something
